Les 4 temps 2025
From February 2024 to February 2025, Mohamed Bourouissa traversed the Tuileries Garden. Each week, he filmed this ever-changing site—through shifting seasons, light, wildlife, and passersby—publishing the resulting videos on the Louvre Museum’s Instagram account. He followed the rhythm of the seasons, revealing the artworks on display, the fauna that inhabit the garden, and the flora that flourishes there. He engaged in dialogue with the garden staff, bearing witness to their activities and commitment.
From this sustained practice emerged Les 4 Temps, a film born of a year of observation, in which the tempo of nature intertwines with that of art.
This work synthesizes the artist’s diverse practices: a musical composition created from sounds recorded in the garden; staging inspired by theatre; and the sensibilities of a scenographer, sculptor, draughtsman, and, above all, filmmaker.
